NYX ~ Orange Soda
Slightly less moisturizing than Maybelline. Very pigmented, so I gently pat the l/s on.
I only got into lipsticks this year.. and I'm hooked! Here's about 75% of my lil collection.. the rest are all in random purses and stuff.
Susy had asked me the other day how often I reapply.. and I'm embarrassed to say that I put lipstick on for my walk to work (I take it off when I eat breakfast at the office), and once again for my walk home. HAHA. Silly right? But Susy does that too!! I dunno.. I feel weird reapplying it at work.. I'm scared to get caught putting makeup on at work! Especially because the girls in my office aren't into makeup at all. And, there's no one I want to impress at work.. but when you're out you never know who you'll run into! LOL. Right Susy??
K well this isn't a real "tag", but recently I overheard Susy and Serena say they didn't have blog ideas.. so I'm going to "tag" them to do a post on their favorite lipstick(s)! And please add pictures galore! And anyone else who wants to, I'd love to see what your favorite lipstick(s) is(are)! Please someone do it or I'll feel lame for having asked o(>__<)o
And here's work OOTD. I absolutely love the print and vibrant color of this top, and it's 98% cotton so machine washable and soft on the skin! I have it in tan+white too.

OMGGGG these Hong Kong stockings are SO small compared to American!! My mom got me size small, thinking they're equivalent to US small. NOPE! They're so tight, they squuuueze the heck outta my entire leg and tummy. It's a battle getting them on haha. But they're very strong material and good quality. I have heard (from HK friends) that Hong Kong girls are super skinny and are all anorexic looking... after wearing these stockings I definitely believe that!

I get this "high maintenance" kind of feeling about it so I always discreetly go in the bathroom to reapply. I've been looking for a cool coral lipstick, I gotta try Orange Soda now!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the maybeline one. It looks so pretty on you. Your lips still look natural with a little pop of color. I am still not into lipsticks. I don't even have one in my purse. I think I own 2 lipsticks and they're oldddd :)

sophia -- i like the first maybelline one! i think i need something like that color. ever since i changed my hair, all my glosses look horrible. all my glosses are pink, so maybe a coral color will work better. argh.

^Awww thanks Ping! Turquoise is one of those colors that's universally flattering on light and dark skin tones.. I love it! With the l/s.. u know I had the same dilemma. It's not until we dye that we realize how easy it was to match our black hair!!

Wish you worked with me so we can reapply makeup together during the day. I don't wear lipcolor at work but I touch up concealed at times and the male coworkers just stare puzzeldly.

Yeah you probably have the skinniest legs of the bloggers I know so if you can't fit into them... probably no one can! I was always a big fan of orange soda (on you) but the other one looks good too, especially if it's moisturizing. No lipstick looks good if your lips are dry and flaky (speaking for myself here). Cute outfit too! You really can't go wrong with the cute top + pencil skirt + skinny belt + cardigan combo! :)

ReplyDeleteif you like orange soda you probably would enjoy pumpking pie (also by NYX). it is my favorite peachy colored lipstick :)
i always enjoy looking at your OOTD! you look simply amazing in everything ! :D and those lipsticks suit you so much! >_< i've been hearing a lot about maybelline and revlon lipsticks and how their quality & colors are even better than those hi-end brands like mac! :) will have to give them a try some day ;)

I don't know...I may be going against the grain to say this but I like the Maybelline better than the orange soda color. That H&M skirt looks so expensive on you and ditto what everyone's said so far...if those tights are tight on you I don't think they'll fit anyone else.

Coco ~ wow thaaank you! I feel so unstylish and untrendy compared to many others, so that really means a lot to me! I'm not sure about the quality of drugstore vs MAC, but I will say it's convenient! There are 5 Walgreens within 3 blocks of me at work!
Elle ~ You're not alone in your opinion, I know many ppl much prefer pink to nude! ReplyDeleteFunny that you say the NYX one isn't as moisturizing and the Maybelline one is.. It's reverse for me. Everybodys skin is different. And yes, I always re-apply lipstick or eyeliner at the end of the day for my commute home. My eyeliner always smudges so yeah.. I COMPLETELY FEEL YOU ON THIS.
I need to remember to re-apply lipstick after I eat or drink coffee. I have a tendency to forget to do that, even though I remember to carry the lipstick i'm wearing that day in my purse. I have so many lipsticks right now, I need to utilize them! Thanks for tagging me, i'll get started on this tonight when I can actually take photos
